BUSALLA (GE)

“Il Ninfeo”

No one is certain about the origins of the name Busalla. It may refer to the ‘busi’ as the hollows of the Scrivia river were called.
Another popular theory is that the name derives from ‘brucialla’, a reference to the village’s turbulent history of being sacked and burned by invading armies. Wild roses and rose syrup are the area’s renowned specialties, attracting many tourists.

CURIOSITIES

The Rose Festival:
Which flower is the most successful this 2024? The ancient Scrivia Valley rose, of course. This year the festival reaches its 22nd edition and boasts the prestigious title of “Authentic Event of Liguria”, obtained in the region at the end of February, as well as the title of “Quality Festival”. The ancient Damascene rose of the Scrivia Valley reaches the peak of its bloom and perfume during the first two weeks of June, expressing its organoleptic characteristics to the full, so all you have to do is come and discover this event and taste the legendary syrup or the delicious aperitivo.

Craft Brewery:
Did you know that Busalla is home to a craft brewery that produces exceptional beers? The Busalla Brewery has been delighting palates since 1906. Reopened in 1999, this microbrewery produces beer without preservatives and unpasteurized, preserving its natural flavors and qualities. Even those who are not beer connoisseurs will notice a difference in appearance and taste, thanks to its fullness and genuineness. Be sure to try the famous chestnut beer. Come and toast with us!
